General Rules and Regulations

Each Open Space property may have area specific rules and regulations. When entering a property, you are responsible for complying with the rules that apply. Check the entrance sign or kiosk for rules and regulations for each specific area.

Inquiries and/or Emergencies

For a life-threatening emergency, call 911. For general information, inquiries or issues, call (661)286-4177 or make a request using the Resident Service Center.

Wildlife and Geologic Features

Many of the plants, animals, archaeological and geological features are fully protected by the law. Feel free to photograph and enjoy them but please leave the wildlife undisturbed. As the seasons change we start seeing various types of wildlife, as we encounter Spring and Summer we might start seeing rattlesnakes.

Parking

There are designated parking areas for each Open Space property. City parking is FREE of charge. Consult the park entrance for specific instructions.

Private Property

Private residential properties border some Open Space properties. Cooperation of private landowners is essential to conservation efforts and expanding Open Space properties. Please respect their land by staying in designated areas and following all rules and regulations.

Pets

Dogs must always be on a leash

Equestrian

Equestrians are welcome and encouraged to use Open Space property.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Remote Controlled (RC) Devices

Drones, remote controlled airplanes and helicopters are not allowed. For more information, please see the City of Santa Clarita’s Municipal Code (http://www.codepublishing.com/ca/santaclarita/):

14.06.210 Prohibited Uses and Activities

Model Airplanes and Boats. No person shall operate in any park any model airplane, boat, car, craft, or other similar device that is powered by an internal combustion engine, remote control, or other similar or electrical power source, except in an area and at such times as designated for such use by the Director.
