Quigley Canyon

The Quigley Canyon Open Space is located in a Newhall neighborhood known for its equestrian ranch-style homes, a working western movie ranch, and dirt roads and trails throughout. In fact, it is commonplace to see the locals trotting down the street on their horses here.  The City purchased nearly 160 acres of this beautiful canyon nearly a decade ago, which has provided the residents with great places to hike, ride and picnic in close proximity to where they live. In 2011, the trails in this canyon were refurbished, adding four separate trails that total approximately 4.1 miles, offering pristine 360 degree views and undulating slopes in varying degrees of difficulty. The City is proud of this in-town passive recreational park, and the opportunities it continues to provide to residents of the community.

Directions Quigley Canyon is located at the end of Cleardale Avenue, in Placerita Canyon, in the Newhall area.  From 13th Street and Railroad, cross the railroad tracks, and stay to the right to proceed onto Placerita Canyon Road.  Take a left on Quigley Canyon Road, and right on Cleardale Avenue.  Parking at the end of Cleardale Avenue is limited; please do not park in marked no-parking areas or block residences.  Carpooling is encouraged.
